Hi jestermgee
I got no idea of what you're talking about.
I'm new, can you give me more details please?
Thx.

Record the effect you want (switch it on) at the point you want the effect.

If you can't get the automation right. Like if it is delay and turning it off before the next note sounds weird you can always have that 1 note on a duplicate track and apple the effect just to that track.

I have done this a good bit with percussion elements. Certain Congo hits with a big reverb but others not. Certain hi hat hits with a little phaser on it but not others etc.

Dunno if it's the most efficient but it's a way that I figured out doing it to my liking.

It's probably easier to either create a multi-channel setup for drums and send each element to a different audio channel for effects or to create a send effect and automate the send control when you need to trigger the effect which will allow the effects tail to still carry when you remove the input. Lots of different ways to do it.

One other solution would implies rack's chains or note range.

I have to learn to do that!
