Recording Bug

Whenever I try recording into a clip slot in the session view the computer hangs for a long time after stopping the recording. It never fully recovers. Upon relaunching live I must go and find the sound file - the clip is there but "offline." A similar thing happens when I try to delete a file from the Live browser. Anyone else?

Hi soundsliketree,

1. Recording
Please see threads http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2030 and http://www.ableton.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2259

Do you have this computer hanging for every recording source ('Live In',
MasterOut, ReWire) or just for 'Live In'?

2. Deleting files
Do you get the hanging here always for every file you delete or just sometimes. And how long is the 'hanging' time here?

regards,
Alex

Hi 3phase,

please check if the recording bug you have is depending on the 'Monitor through Live' flag in Live's Audio prefeerences and on 'Live In' as record source. This is the bug we can reproduce.

If you have (reproduceable) crashes/freezes not depending on that flag and/or for other recording sources, please let me know.

Alex

i do have monitor through live off
and "live in" as input
and i'm using mac os 9 & live 2.

i would go exploring to try to find how different configurations of these parameters effect the situation, but i've got an important gig in a few days and i can't risk these reinstallation horror scenarios i read about in the threads.

if it isn't fixed by next week, then i should be able to lend a hand.

thanks for working on this!

Hi soundsliketree,

<monitor through live off and "live in" as input
this is exactly what I can reproduce here so it will be fixed soon as possible.

Alex
