Assign Hide/Unhide groups to midi control surface

Seems absurd that you can't assign "Unfold Selected Tracks" or "Unfold All Tracks" (which is just the key "u" or "alt+u" on the keyboard) to a midi button.

I'm using an Qcon Pro X with has user assignable midi buttons but I can't make one show or hide groups so that means loads of switching back and forth with either the keyboard or mouse and the control surface!

This can be achieve via BOMES, or ClyphX Pro and it's Keys Add-on

What does that even mean? I'd rather not have to pay €60 for this tiny little job. I'd rather edit the Mackie Control Script that comes bundled with ableton but it's all compiled byte code.

This sort of thing is standard in Logic. Surely there's are simple way in ableton?

Yes you use the key strokes that you've detailed, it's not MIDDI Mappable.

Well that totally sucks! Of all the things to leave out of the MIDI mapping!

Do you know if it's possible to modify the Mackie Control surface scripts that come bundled with Ableton? Any tutorials? Using python you could assign a control surface button to a key command.

I'm using Ableton Live 11 here and having the same issue.

Does anyone have the same problem, or does anyone has found a solution to map the Unfold Group Button to a midi key. Trying to get the same thing to work with the X-Touch function buttons, but still no success...

You would need to write it into the Control Surface, it's not MIDI Mappable.

You can do it from the Push.
