Locator ISSUES!

My most ardent wish for Live 5 is:
PLEASE include a way to FIX playback from a specific locator (as with the old system of a start marker), so that even when objects are subsequently selected, playback will start from the locator when the space bar is pressed.
eg. I programme drums in Live by cutting up, warping and duplicating bits of audio in the arrange window. Auditioning your beats 'on the fly' is essential - I therefore set up a loop with the start marker at the beginning of that loop. As I'm editing the beats, I constantly press the space bar to re-audition the loop from the START.
With Live 5, as soon as you select an object, playback will start from that point when you next press the spacebar. This can be useful, but there must be a way to fix playback from a locator (positioned say at the beginning of a loop), regardless of whether you subsequently select an object. Otherwise, Live's magic for beat programing will be completely lost.
The MIDI/KEY mapping for locators is not an adequate solution to this problem.
PLEASE, PLEASE ADDRESS this issue.
