sample is offline in ableton 10

just opened an older file. a few synths made with sampler shows the samples offline. Thing is I've always collected and saved the files are in samples/imported folder. When I open the file I get a pop up. "some of the media files (such as samples) used by this set could not be loaded". the only difference between the samples that show up and those that are offline is the type. show up MP3. offline WAV file. I select the file that the sample is pointing to and the WAV file insers into sampler but with none of the sample settings i had before so I've effectively lost the synths. Again the files are not missing they just say can't be loaded and then offline.
Anyway I can get the file to recall the settings? Thanks. Otherwise I guess I just have to try and remake them.
Thanks all!

hey jestermgee
was reading a bit... The offline files are m4a. Looks like ableton 9 supported these files but 10 does not. Thats why when I drop in the same clip but WAV files all the sample information is lost.
Is there any fix??
Thinking i may be able to open 9 (if i can find it) and write down the settings and then just adjust the WAV file in 10. Is there another way??
Thanks for the reply!

Ok so this is what I found in ABLETON supported files section.
"Windows: M4A is an Apple file format which is not natively supported on Windows. In Live on Windows M4A files can only be opened in conjunction with Apple QuickTime. Please note that Apple dropped support for QuickTime and that it is only available as 32-bit application and thus works only with the 32-bit version of Live."
Ableton 10 only has a 64 bit option and thus M4A don't work.
Ugh wish I had just used the WAV files of the same tracks. Firing up an old computer to see if I have 9 in 32 bit.

Problem solved!! ok so yes it was the m4a which cannot be processed by any ableton version w/ 32 bit.
Downloaded 9.something with 32 bit and the synth works!
I'm gonna rebuild synth from WAV file in 10 just to have it but will work on file as is in 9 32bit.
hope this helps someone in the future.
