Help! Ableton is sending midi notes from transport

I've got Ableton synced up to my ipad using rtpMidi. If I play back a midi file to my iPad it works, however the transport buttons also send midi notes. So if I click play I heard a loud note while the recorded notes also play. Same thing if I click stop. Does anyone know how to fix this? I don't have anything midi oriented assigned to the transport keys.
