5.0.1 = same probz as 5.0.017b - scanning vsti folder crash

This is my original post that was locked but to be honest i'm not sure if it should have been as the issue with ableton 5.0.17 crashing when scanning the vsti folder was still happening.

I assumed this issue would've been eradicated due to 5.0.1 being released. I'm sure someone's got a solution of some kind. In the meantime I'll copy and paste the preferences + template files and then remove the originals exactly as I did last time and go from there.. I guess it boils down to a gremlin within my "vsti" folder..

Has anyone else had similar problems like myself whereby the effects plugins folder's fine but the vsti folder screws up Ableton 5.0.1.

If you need anymore info plz holla at me.. (i'm not the best with wording)

It could be a buggy vst plug causing the problem. Have you tried moving all files out of the folder temporarily and launching live?

After going through and removing older 4.1.2 + 4.1.3 appdata folders stuff remarkably I scanned the VSTi folder and I was amazed, but it worked without dropping/crashing out on me..

now then wether this is linked with something in the vst plugs I dunno but b4 I had just scanned the plugins first and was ok then I went onto scan the vstis aswell for those of you who are wondering how I was able to scan both individually I have..

VST > instruments
> plugs

I will try later on to scan the plugs folder aswell and see if I can re-create the problem... go from there...
