10.1.17 got rid of all settings / configs / prefs / vsts /etc

did this happen to anyone else? was on 10.1.15, on Catalina, with auto updates on. No vsts, no folders in Places, no default template, no control surface scripts, no midi controllers, no custom anything, all gone...
anyone have ideas on how to recover from this? (i put in a support request)

renamed the 10.1.15 directory to 10.1.17, after renaming .17 to something else, and everything came back
/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Ableton

This saved me thank you! Everything was lost after the update.
