Delay on just a couple of notes in a MIDI clip?

Hi,
I have melody which loops over 8 bars. But as an effect, I want to put Filter Delay on the last two notes and let the delay play over the first notes when the melody plays again.
The problem is that when I do that, the delay also affects the first notes when the melody starts again and it gets messy very quickly.
So my question is:
is there a way to "lock" the delay to only work on certain notes in a MIDI clip? My solution now is to duplicate the track and only put the delay and the two notes on one track to avoid the other notes from getting affected, but I hope there is an easier way to solve this. Because if a decide to edit the sound a bit now, I must do the same editing two times.
I hope this made sense, and that someone can help me
Cheers!

This can be done with Automation. You can toggle the exact points you'd like the Filter Delay -> Device On and Off will be. And any other parameters. It's really powerful.

Thank you for the answer and link. I have already tried to turn the delay on/off, but I want the delay to be on all the time (for like 20 seconds), but just affect two notes in the MIDI clip
I should maybe have written that this melody consists of 3 tracks that I have grouped together, where track 2 and 3 gets the input from track 1 (which has the active MIDI clip). So the Filter Delay is on the group itself, and not one of the 3 tracks.
It's hard to explain this, I wish it was possible to upload pictures from my computer to the post so I could show a screenshot

Put the last two notes and the delay on a different MIDI track.

I'm sorry, I don't know how an effect can on yet only target a specific note and not everything else. All I can think of is to isolate the targeted notes to another track. Maybe someone else can come up with something.

Yeah, that's what I was suggesting.

Is using a send/return not an option? Or adding an Effect Rack that does something similar, switching between chains?

Put the last two notes and the delay on a different MIDI track.
I ended up doing that. I've already spent too much time trying other things, but it it was hard.
Thanks for the help, everybody!
