missing MIDI controller numbers

does anybody know why Live MIDI Cntrl omit certain CC numbers? -- 38 is missing, as are 96-101.
I'm using a Nord rack and the Filter Attack is hardwired to MIDI CC 38, so I'm unable to record automation into Live, while all the other knobs work fine.
