As the description says I'm after a Live or Max sequencer along the lines of the Doepfer MAQ. But with more max for live accessible parameters. Random functions as well as Velocity, Pitch, Gate, etc. I love the ML-185 Sequencer but 8 steps even with forward-backward aren't enough for me. The 185 is easily the best sequencer our the IMHO Someone needs to make a 16 Step version (would definitely pay for this). Haven't liked the Alexkid Sequencer even though it's got 16 steps. And haven't vibed on many other Max sequencers compared to the 185.

Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Yeah Snake is great.
If only it had swing and note length options as per the 185.
