MIDI/OSC out from beat repeat

I am coming to Ableton kind of backwards from the POV of a visuals creator, so apologies for what seem to me like pretty basic questions.
I made a little arrangement in Live that uses some beat repeat effects, and I would love to have the "repeats" trigger something in my visuals, which means I would need some kind of signal coming out of Live, like OSC or MIDI. I have two uneducated theories, but I don't really know how to achieve them:
1. I saw in some Connection Kit tutorials people using an Envelope Follower, and I thought I could combine this with an OSCSender. This seems possible, although I can't seem to figure out how to get the Envelope Follower to map to an OSC message. Also, ideally the solution would be cleaner than relying on audio analysis after the fact. I'd love to have the actual event from the beat repeat effect. Is this possible?
2. Perhaps there is some 3rd party beat repeat M4L effect that I could hijack and insert an OSC Out node into?
Second, is there any way to add arbitrary markers into clips that would trigger OSC events? I'd love to be able to mark up my percussion clips manually to send out OSC events to my visualization program.
Thanks in advance!
