Hello music people,
I had the trial and recently purchased the full suite. I haven't been able to use the ASIO4all since I installed the bought version. Does anyone know any settings or procedures for how to get the ASIO4ALL to work? I have a PC with windows 10. I have been at this for days and it's making me lose my sh**. I sent my issue and crash report to the ableton already. I just though I would ask you guys as well because I have tried everything I could think of to get this to work. Thanks

Asio4all is not the ideal thing, an audio interface is better with its proper asio drivers

You told us, you purchased Suite - that's a fair amount of money....... But: if you spend another € 125,= , you save yourself a lot of troubles and headaches.

Meaning: buy an interface with proper ASIO drivers and sound quality.

You can think of: https://focusrite.com/en/usb-audio-inte ... rlett-solo

I have used ASIO4ALL with all my audio applications for at least 10 years, and it has worked flawlessly. When I first bought Live 10 it continued to work. Now somewhere along the update chain it now causes the Live to crash when I nominate it in the Audio driver tab. Is this my problem?

Asio4all, is not ideal nor regulary updated (2017 was last update according to the website) , an Audio Interface with its correct ASIO drivers is the best solution.

Sometimes a person wants to use Live with nothing connected to it.

But yeah. As for the crashes. I wouldn’t really know if it’s a Live thing, an OS thing or a drivers thing.. or any combination of the three. Hard to keep up with changes these days.

Certainly is, but using a driver that wasnt/hasnt been updated for several years is simply asking for trouble.

There are some alternative ones but ASIO4ALL seems to be the most reliable. I haven't had any issues with it but it is known that it doesn't work well with every sound card.

Focusrite Scarlett would be a good alternative. Even a Used Scarlett 2nd gen probably could be had for like $50 and are still pretty reliable.

I understand though an extra box can add clutter if you don't need to record audio, but they can come in handy. I believe the 3rd gen interfaces all offer loopback as well so you can sample stuff off of Youtube.
