Hi,
I'm currently trying to understand the AbletonLive API and trying to figure a way to get all Clips that are within a Track in ArrangementView. It seems easy to get all ClipSlots in Session-View, but I couldn't find anything to get the same for Arrangement View. Is it possible?

No, unfortunately there isn’t a lot of access to clip stuff in the arrangement. I’m hoping we see more access soon.

The best you can do is select a single clip(multiple selected clips doesn’t work) manually and observe if it is an arrangement clip or not.
Scrubbing the playhead through a clip counts as “selecting” the clip too though of that helps at all.

Yeah, absolutely it is. I think a month or two ago I posted a clip of a device that gathers all clips and lets you edit ones that are all of a certain color.

What are you aiming to do? We should be able to figure it out.

Would love to see how you you were able to get all of the arrangement clips. Can you share what you did?

I know you could scan all possible id’s but it fills the Max console with errors. The ID also changes every time you make an edit so it could get to be a lot of scanning to cover all possible clip ID’s.

Is there another way?

What's the end goal? What about the clips are you trying to manipulate all at once? There are a couple of ways to access that collection depending on how much/what type of interaction you are after (i.e. - if you just want to delete clips versus performing clip-level modifications).

As of live 11 you can get a track’s arrangement clip ID’s!
