Hi guys,
I'm using Ableton's Compressor on a pads track so it ducks when the kicks hit. I have "Pads Track" soloed so I can focus on just that track.
The problem: If the sidechain's "Audio From" field is a Group, then I get no audio from the Group. (E.g. I have 3 kick tracks in a group called "Kicks Group".) Unless I un-solo the "Pads Track" so that the entire song plays. In that case, the sidechain audio from "Kicks Group" registers... but then I can't solo "Pads Track" to focus on just that track.
If the "Audio From" field is a standard kick track (versus a Group), then there's no issues. The sidechain audio registers when "Pads Track" is soloed.
Any ideas? Is this a glitch? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks,
Sidechain Issues When "Audio From" is a Group

Oh, and Pre-FX and Post-FX doesn't matter. Zero audio comes through on either.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or not but one thing you can do to work around it is to solo both the group and your pads track at the same time (hold ctrl and hit the solo button) and also send the groups audio to a return track instead of master while you're soloing:
this is inconvenient but works
