Noob Volume Issue

Post by DeepSnow » Sun Dec 20, 2020 9:51 pm

When recording a live electric guitar lead track over a rhythm track, the volume of the lead track through the headphones/monitors is way too low. However it ends up sitting right in the mix. How can I get louder volume on the live guitar while recording?

My workaround was to turn the bass & rhythm track outputs down low while recording, and turn them back up after. Is that the best solution? Seems kind of awkward, and also puts things out of proportion while recording which isn't ideal. Hoping for better solution.

• Raise the level/gain at the source (guitar)
• Raise the input gain of the recording track
• Raise the gain of the track that's recording the guitar in the DAW
