Believe it not, hold it as a "conspiracy-theory" but the SAME one-cycle SAWS samples sounds in different sampler/synths... lot of difference. Especially the PURE ONE_CYCLE SWAS in NI products like kontakt, massive, all reaktor sampler/tables.... sounds (i would say) "weak".
And Simpler/Sampler pure-one-cycle-SAWS sounds also for my ears "cheap/weak". The "Analog" PURE-SAW sounds in my opinion/ears much better!
As said the PURE SAW with all fx/modulation/filter... off!
Yeah, i also cant really believe it... but just HEAR PURE SAW-sounds with same Level-envelopes (just sustain to 1 and all other to zero) and compare with fresh ears... thats a "subtil-huge" difference!

If you use longer samples than ONE_CYCLE, of course each sampler-algoritm wiill transpose/re-pitch/formant-shift.... of its own koop-settings and its other mathematically way. But i believe we all reaktor, kontakt, simpler/smampler... user will get "better" sounds if we have different samples from all the machines or vsti... I guess 1 second should be enough, to find the reiht rigt loop-pints... as shorter looped, as NOT much more pitch-artefacts will be appear as "secondory problem"... The goal is that ONE PURE 1-second SAW-smaple sounds better than the ONE_CCLE waves by read-algoritm from NI, ableton....simplre/sampler(kontakt.......
The ANALOG PURE SAW sounds much better, than the same PURE Roland/Oberheim... real Analog wave....?
As said the ONE_CYCLE smapler/Synth wave will ONE_Cycle in Simpler,... believe it or not...., How sounds a PURE serum saw, how sounds a XY_plug, how sounds a REAL PURE HW.... Of course this will mostly not be "significant" for consumer-ears in party-party-mood (IF partys are in future ever never allowed, because we have a lethal influenza with a special name.... party-people/church-members.... will suddenly die... But tax-payers, work-slaves can work in smallest rooms/cars.... , the VIRUS make a big long-way from tax-payers...., but anyway, believe your morning/evening-full-contact-propaganda.... deactivate your brain, keep brave and and all-believing slave... )
However: PLEASE post YOUR favorite PURE!!!!! Saw in C-1 here. I uess 1 second should be enough! Of course there will be "formant/pitch" artefactsbut it sounds other "artifacted" then a WEAK Saw!

On your topic, it's not clear what you're talking about. Are you referring to specific samples? Where are they from? Are are saying that no matter what your 1-cycle-long sample is, it's sounding different in different samplers?

He is saying he’d like a thread dedicated to raw saw waveforms with no effects at C-1. And he’d like for there to be an audible collection of 1 second examples so we can compare and contrast.

You could use a Google Drive or something like that as a place to store and share your saws. I'm pretty sure it's possible to set it so that it's easy for everyone to add theirs to the library.
