I'm not sure what's happening, but about 30% of my projects in the recent tab are greyed out. When I go to the Mac deleted folder, they are there and I am sure I am not deleting them. Not sure if there is a setting or something that is causing this.

There is no way Live can delete your projects on you, there must be something else going on.

Live does not delete anything unless YOU delete it.

I don't even know how to delete a project.

I've noticed project files from my backup folders in my recycle bin, but never the primary project file.

You're not by chance opening up the backup folder project files, are you?

That's probably why things disappear "magically"!
I mean, if you don't know enough about files management then you remove things inadvertendly for sure! The machine (Live) can't take every decisions for you, and so it offers you option when needed. If you're not aware of these options and settings, or just don't mind, or both, then of course you're gonna loose stuff. If you ,the user "don't even know how to delete a project", how can a software knows how to manage what you should be managing?
I'm not making fun of, I'm speaking in general.
Using a DAW is basically doing files management since you're creating content, and the first thing you should learn when starting with a new DAW is not how to make music (you probably already knows how, since you've installed a DAW) but how the where files you create in the DAW go, and how to sort and manage them.

I swear that sometimes, after a crash, that the .als live set I was working on it is deleted. I can only try to rebuild it with a backup version.

I use a lot max and max forlive and, sometimes, if I change an argument of a pattstorage in a bpatcher a crash occurs and it deletes the live set. Maybe Live is unabled to delete a file, but it is able to do something that delete files make something else (max?) to delete files when some crash occurs..

During this kind of crash, live becomes very strange,

I filled an issue to support at the end of november or beginning of december without any answer yet..2 months after...

Thank you Julien and Imnotdedyet. This Ableton forum needs more people like you and less self proclaimed unpaid wannabe tech support people who are more interested in running up their post counts than actually honestly helping anyone with a problem. Thank you again.

Yes, there are hundreds of Ableton backup files in my trash bin and a few main projects as well. I know what I do within Ableton and I can assure the others that deleting the project files is not something I did.

When live senses that the music is crap it secretly deletes projects. It uses a really sophisticated AI algorithm to achieve this. It is an easter egg that only a few people know. Now you are part of the elite.

Try asking tech support, I'm sure they will tell you.

It's amazing how a few know-it-alls with thousands of posts who probably have less than a 0.0001% success rate of solving anyone's problem really turn this forum to crap.

Surprising how, 1 person, that doesnt know what he doing by his own admission (with a 100% delete rate), thinks no-one else does, then blames the software that deletes his projects. Comical really!

It's amazing how admin lets these people spew garbage in here. UAD forum much more professional.
