How can my Korg Kontrol 49 control my VSTI's?

I have this Kontrol 49 midi controller in front of me and wondering if I can
control say like a Pro53 or my Audio Realism 303 knobs. I searched the help but did not see much on controlling VSt's via a ext controller. I tried the lil joy stick kind of thing with the fx plugin and that works but I tried the midi remote and I could not get that green ball in the "joystick" to hook up..So what is the deal here?
Thanks all..
I'd really like to hook up these pads to Impulse too..but the pads in Impulse did not light up on midi remote..?>

of course it's possible.

just open up the plugin in LIVE's windows (not the plugin window, but down the bottom)

press the midi-learn button

select the parameter you want to control.

turn the knob you want to use.

...RTFM. (and go back to the cubase forums you propoganda spouting cubase user)

Lke Ben said, pop open the triangle button at the bottom there so you can see all the parameters, hit midi, assign a controller and get freaking.

Try doing it that quick in Cubase!

the english manual is part of the english download. This way you even get the English version of the program. WOW.

look, honestly, this isn't a difficult thing for you to do for yourself. Live has had this capability forever. It wasn't even something I needed to read the manual to work out how to do...so.....

nah actually, I'm not telling you. It's not like Live is a software behemoth with a bible sized manual like Logic or Cubase. The manuals short, concise and well written. There's nothing hidden away in Live. It's all just there on the screens and menus. anyway...I'm doing you a favour. ...you won't learn anything about software trolling about forums asking a bunch of people who know more than you simply because they READ THE MANUAL.

well there maybe a mix up here in which manuals to read.

Seems like he's talking about the Kontrol 49 manual, not the Live one.

As for the 49, there are various templates you can load in via the librarian software, which include some softsynths, as well as Live. For others, you need to edit the params you want in the librarian then copy the scene across to the Kontrol. Note that you will probably need the manuals for the softsynths you own or at least a midi map. I did one for Symptohm Melohman, and it's pretty straighforward and works a treat.

you can download the English manual for the Kontrol at http://korg.com/service/support.asp?A_PROD_NO=KONTROL49

here's a hint - when you hit a key or turn a knob on the Kontrol49 does the midi activity light come on in Live?

as to the manual - you can get an english .pdf manual from Korg in their downloads section

whether or not you're going to read it is another matter
