Hi eveyone

I recently upgaded to Ableton Live 11 and i keep having some minor stability problems but the main problem i get is Live resetting all my linked folders whenever i restart.

Example: I store my User Library, Factory Pack and User Samples folder on an external SSD, in Live 10 everything was working fine. I only had to link them to the DAW once and they would be there on every start. Now AL11 keeps forgetting about my folders and on every start it will change User Library and Factory Packs to the default location and completely forget about my Samples folder. This really slows down my workflow, as i have to rescan all my 600gb of Samples on every start.

Did anyone experience a similar problem?

Yes, I have something similar.

Except when I point Live to the correct location on my external HD, it doesn't even load my library.
And every time I restart Live it's back at the default location.

I've switched back to Live 10 because I'm not able to work like this.

I've contacted support about 5 days ago but haven't heard back.

yes same goes for me...back at live 10 for now. would really love to see this fixed, as it makes working impossible for me

Yeah having the same issue and this forum was all I could find online about it. I reached out to support but no response yet. Hoping they get this resolved!

So the problem still exists and just no support from the ableton team. C'mon guys! We wanna use Live 11.

I have my stuff on a NAS box and it remembers just fine. Is this on Windows or macOS?

I'm on Mac. Problem seems to be caused by opening ableton without the ssd being plugged in. So:

- I keep my SSD plugged in and restart ableton, its fine
- I remove my SSD, start ableton without it, realize its not plugged in -> plug it in -> All location folders gone and factory library resetted.

Pleaaaaase admin help!!

Hey,
1) if some of you haven't already: write to support@ableton.com (yes I know, support is still suffering from the lockdown situation and answers are taking longers than usual)
2) don't forget to plug in your external drive before launching Live... or restart Live if you forgot to do it. That's not deal breaker, isn't it?

I also had this issue, drove me nuts until this dialog came up saying my database was corrupt here:

Users/<name>/Library/Application Support/Ableton/Live Database

I just trashed everything in here and it rebuilt on the next startup. Seems to be working now
