Did the repeat button on Push ruin popular music?

Are all the horrible, soulless trap beats with awful hi-hats that all sound the same with zero feel or groove and which have ruined popular music over the last few years caused by Ableton Push's repeat button? Or was it just just using the draw tool already?

Discuss...

No it is human interaction with technology which causes this. And I think it started with drummachines anyway..... :?

I think the easy solution would be just to convince folks to start listening to the music that has more than zero groove or soul.

Then again, what do I know. I’ve gone through a couple generations of being enthusiastic about various musical cliches that are now ultra cringe.

I’d say that in the past 15 years, the repeated hi hats are about on par with side-chained bass / noise / everything for things that are overused to the point that you can’t escape from it these days.
