editing MIDI in the piano roll

I dig Live. Been a user for years. Always update. Got 11 Suite. Need a new computer but that's neither here nor there...
A couple of decades ago and years prior, I was a MOTU Digital Performer devotee... and there is one thing I sorely miss... comprehensive MIDI editing.
I'm hoping someone can tell me what I'm missing or of a Max for Live plug that will do the trick...
I want to be able to select all notes by range of a parmeter. That is.. select all notes with a note length shorter than a specific value - or even better - within a range of values. I know you can lasso velocities, so that kinda is like a selection though not as elegant as entering in a limit/range parameter.
Particularly with regard to selecting notes by length - anyone have a solution or if not in Live, an application I can off-load my sequence into just for cleaning up certain things and then bringing back into Live? Cheers.
