Dual boot OS

I am about to upgrade from W7 to W10.
I am aware that a number of my VSTs will not work in W10. I am trying to have the best of both worlds by dual-booting my C drive. I have cloned my C drive in preparation but when I launched Live it went right to authorization - I am worried that if I proceed flipping between Live10 on the same old PC but W7/W10 OS will require authorization each time to use.
Note: this is an authorized legal Live licence. I installed Live on my D-drive.
I have contacted support but still have questions.
I am wondering what experiences others may have who have tried this method with Live.
