Ableton Forum

I have a visualizer that uses my webcam to create cool effects. However, when I add the patch on Ableton, it doesn't recognize the audio. I talked to the developer & he said to use a plugin like Envelope Follower, edit the patch & then select the audio on Ableton to trigger & sync with the visuals. Can anyone help me get this working?!

What's this visualizer? Is it made to sync visuals to audio? Is it a M4L device? etc...

The envelope follower will allow you to map to the parameters of the visualiser so that they then react to the audio, there's no need to edit patches...

Do you have a step by step guide/link to a post on how to do it?

I followed the steps. It doesn't work

Thats a Max Patch and not a maxforlive device, ask the developer to provide you with the M4L version or try a different visualiser.
