Well,

I was checking this lately:

because I am looking for a new computer.
Interestingly enough, it seems that Live 11 is more RAM hungry than Live 10 and the RAM requirements have doubled for both Windows and Mac.
Moreover what's strange is that the once 4 GB RAM (8 GB or more recommended) now reads 8 GB RAM. Is this due to the industry now selling mainly 8GB RAM computers?
So I do not get how it is possible to need twice as much RAM than before and why there's no 'better' indication meaning the more the better?
Has Live become a memory hog? What happened ?

That's certainly a big one yes.
L11 don't use more RAM than L10, don't worry. Ableton has to take into account deprecated OSes and new computers' standards.
It's highly unlikely that you'll find a new computer with less than 8GB these days anyway.

Thanks. Nowadays M1 Macs are not upgradable after-sales so I was worried that yesteryear "4GB ok" and "8GB better" was dismissed.
So we can say that in any case 8GB are reccomended as minimum. If you use big multi-sampled libraries often get 16GB instead.

FYI, M1 Macs aren't yet fully supported, Live will run under Rosetta 2.

ACK. Do you have a feasible date (or Quarter / Month / Year) when it will be?
