How to map Beat Repeat for Live Effect

My goal is this: I would like to map beat repeat to a macro knob so that when I turn it, it turns on, then when I turn it down the effect stops. Using this live for quick glitches.
I've got the effect I want by mapping the knob to "device on" and setting the values to 1:0 so it immediately turns on when I turn the knob.
Unfortunately I get a click or pop when the device turns on and off and it disturbs the sound.
Any ideas on how I can map this to avoid the clicks??
Thank you so much, I've been working at this and haven't come up with a solution I like so far.

Other things you can map add the Chance and Repeat buttons, depending on the kind of thing you’re going for. If I recall, personally I usually used the Repeat button. But that might just be a freeze. And I don’t think you can get Chance to go between 0 and 100 within a single increment of a macro.

Putting it in a rack with chain selector excluding the very first values will disable it automatically. You can add a fade in to avoid clicks if needed.

I didn't like chance but I never even considered using Repeat! Thank you so much! Going to give this a try.

Oh shoot, never really spent time with chain selector so I never explored this. Thank you so much for this suggestion, I've got some playing to do!
So grateful to both of you for these suggestions, I searched and tried and couldn't come up with anything. That's why I love this forum.
Thanks again.
