setting up new home studio (small room) - advice needed

So I am moving house and setting up a studio in a small outside room.
It is quite a small space - 2.8 by 2.8 metres (in other words a bit over 9 feet)
West wall will be door & window, to be covered by a curtain.
North wall will be bookcase & cabinetry
South and East Walls will be bare.
South wall is board, East Wall brick.
At the moment the room is reflective AF
I already have some acoustic paneling (city scapes) to reduce reflections and acoustic foam bass traps for two corners. I am basically planning to get more acoustic paneling and to cover every inch of wall space with cityscapes
Questions:
- will the irregular shape of books in bookshelves be any use at all in further reducing reflections?
- does it make sense to get acoustic paneling for the ceiling?
