Automate Audio Track from Midi Track

Hello all!

Is it possible to automate plugins or mixer settings on an audio track from a midi track?

The goal is to use a midi track to automate effects on a guitar being played live through an audio track.
This would help me greatly in live performance.

Thanks,

Kevin

Pretty much all M4L devices that can map to a parameter can do it across tracks (even multiple tracks).

Like Envelope MIDI, or Expression Control, or even LFO (set Depth to zero and use Offset to control/automate).

Some audio FX devices accept MIDI input, either you select them in a empty MIDI Tracks's MIDI To choosers, or the device itself has a MIDI input choosers.

In the (and somehow obsolete) "Max for Live essentials" free pack there's a midi device called "Map 8”. It allows you to map whatever parameter, among all the live set, inside a set of 8 knobs in a single track.

Thanks for the replies and info.

I may have to check out Max 8 as it sounds interesting.

My audio and midi skills are at a high level but I'm always looking for the simplest and most logical way to achieve a task because most times I find the simple solutions to be the best.

Thanks again!
