Arpeggiator for live performance

Hi there,

I'm using the Ableton Arpeggiator for some of my sounds during a band live performance with my Komplete MK2 and I always get the problem that the arpeggiator sometimes doesn't trigger the note exactly when I press it in Sync mode. I know you can be more flexible when you're in Free mode but then it's hard to set up the exact tempo. I know that the arp works much better if you're playing synced to a click but even then the notes don't seem to trigger always correctly. Is it because I don't always hit the note exactly on the right beat or do I miss something in the arp settings?

Thank you,
T

Usually you need to hit it ever so slightly Before the beat. Never ever hit After the beat, ever.

Still. Depending on the duration of the steps in the arp, you might have a very small window of time to hit what you need to.

A way to add more time is to add a second arpeggiator Before the one you’re using, and set it to a larger note interval (Gate at 100% set to Chord. Can set the note rate to something like 1/8, 1/4, or even 1/2. It all depends on how quickly you intend to change notes of the arpeggiator. For something as big as 1/2, you can press the notes pretty early before the beat.
