I KNOW of a work-around to automate the master but it's too many steps.

Say I have 6 guitars in a group called Guitar GRP (and I do). I use a lot of scenes. Say I have six scenes. I assign letters to my scenes, so a-f in this example one letter for each of six scenes.

I want to automate the Guitar GRP. master in Session View so that the overall volume of all six guitars can be different for scene 'a' than scene 'e' and Live remembers it.

Is there a way to automate the group master using some resource, Max For..,.anything, etc.

M4L devices can map across tracks, so load M4L modulation devices in any track (MIDI Track is easier), map those to stuff in Master Track, then automate the M4L devices.

For example you can map with one of Expression Control's Map buttons then automate its Min value.

There are many M4L devices made for macroing that can be used that way too.
