Disk dropout when changing selected track

Post by bjornasy » Wed Oct 27, 2021 12:01 am

Hey! I have this weird problem where i have disk dropouts from the following scenario.
I load a drum rack with multiple instances of sampler. I do this so i can have more than one sample on the same note, and randomize which sample is triggered with the velocity settings. I have 12 samples on kick, snare, hihat, open hh and percussion.
When i have the midi track with the drum rack selected, there is no problem, but as soon as i click onto and select another track, the loop i've made starts dropping out. What could be the problem? I'll attach a link with video. Hoping you guys have som tips.

Turn off "reduce latency when monitoring"

It wasn't on in the first place, and it made no difference, but thanks for the response!

Oh sorry, I didn't red correctly, my bad.
That sounds like something I've been experiencing recently too, but only with the current beta.
Which Live version are you using?

Does it only happen when selecting another track?
On my end it's not even needed; hiding the piano roll or switching to the devices view is enough to trigger the disk overload.
In other words this happens as soon as he piano roll is hidden. And atm I've only experienced this with drum racks.

It seems to only happen when the drum rack is not armed for recording, which is really weird

And does it only happen with tracks that use a Drum Rack, or also with other type of devices?

Hi,

I'm experiencing same problem with grand piano pack on Ableton 12.
Any news from support?

Only with this one?
What's your machine and OS?
It happens when selecting another track, or just when playing notes?
