I did some searching but couldnt find it. Can you patch your system audio from your computer through a max setup like voicemeter or OBS? Im asking if you can design a voicemeter type setup with max for live, that patches external audio for your desktop in the same way Jack, or voicemeter patches audio, for things like zoom or discord.

If Live can see the inputs/outputs you need, then M4L can use them.
