Windows 10 - plugin gui does not notice clicks with playing with computer keyboard

When playing with computer keyboard as midi keyboard, you no longer can tweak vst daw settings because the window does not take clicks when a computer keyboard key is pressed.
Has anyone noticed this change from 7 to 10, and more importantly, found a workaround, maybe in the windows registry?
