Ableton Forum

Hi,

I’m using ableton in windows 11 to loop with a launchkey mini and my guitar via focusrite Scarlett audio interface. I can’t figure out how to record what I’m doing in session view? I don’t want to make an arrangement I just want to record whatever comes out of the master but there seems to be no easy way to do this in ableton itself, or am I missing something? I’ve tried using audacity and recording via windows wasapi, this works for YouTube/ Spotify sounds but whenever I play something in ableton, audacity freezes and doesn’t record anything.

Is there someone out there who can help me?

I just read somewhere else on the forum that wasapi is apparently not supported by ableton, bummer... Any other methods to record master sounds?

Resample the master to a new channel:

Set up a new audio track.

Set 'Audio From' to 'Resampling'

Arm the channel for recording and set monitor to Off or Auto, and mute the channel.

Launch a clip in the channel. It should now record whatever is coming through your master channel.
