It still makes a ton of sense (imo).... having the detail plugin row at bottom is great per track, but especially with the argument of users with many plugins per track having only this row becomes kind of making less sense without an actual overview after all, as one doesnt see them all without additional scrolling even after clicking a track....
For creative flow, current layout is okay, for shifting towards mix-down phase, it gets very sub-optimal quickly.... the new feature to allow showing mixer from session also in arranger is a testament towards that, as using session view then becomes even less useful "as is", once arranging has been started.
Just my personal thoughts.
