Resize audio clip to <16th?

Arrange view: i notice that there's a limit to how small i can make an audio clip by dragging its start and end point, one 16th. And it doesnt seem to be tied to the grid resolution.

i often need to make clips that are smaller than this and at the moment i'm having to 'split' the clip as a workaround, which is inconvenient.

Why isnt the minimum clp size tied to the grid? and is there a fast way of resizing clips to creating <16th sized clips without splitting?

I am not sure if you want it unlooped, but you can switch off warp and make select a start and end-point marker for a very small part, something less than a millisecond even.
