Live > Scarlett > Hardware - no midi note

Hive mind, let's see if we can solve this annoyance
Ableton is able to send sync (start / stop) to my Moog Mother32, but not notes.
Midi ports in preferences set to "Track" out on the Scarlett. As mentioned, when ticking "Sync", it will send start/stop.
For troubleshooting I use the same midi cable and am able to send notes to the synth from my Keystep directly.
Scarlett 18i8 Gen3, latest firmware. Live 11. Mac Studio M1 Max latest OS.

update: it does work With Ableton 9 !! same settings
