Help Debugging midi feedback loops

hi everyone,
I have a live set where I've gotten midi feedback loops, where something* magical is sending midi in/out rapidly, causing the CPU to spike.
I've downloaded a basic midi monitoring tool, which shows it's some generic button name (no idea where it is in the set however).
Do you have any recommendations for the right ways to proceed with debugging things like this? Is there a tool or good process even for stopping midi feedback loops?
I'm on Mac M1 with Ableton 11.15
