Hello!
Now that Live supports AUv3 plugins does that mean that plugins from Mainstage and Logic will show up in Live?
Maybe someone with Mainstage/Logic could check?
Thanks

I don't think Logic's instruments are AUv3. They're more certainly native devices (like Live devices are).

Yeah you're probably right.
But it would be interesting to know if theres any other plugins that are now accessible in Live.

Logic and MainStage plug ins can only be used on those apps, so nothing has changed with AUv3 support.

Wait. What?!?!? AUV3 support??????
That’s right up my alley !
I have a fee iOS apps that can open in Logic. Some are nice because they are just inexpensive, some are nice novelties, and some are pretty wild midi generators.
I’m kind of stoked and surprised that Ableton are implementing that!
The downside is that many AUV3 apps do not work. But a few nice ones do. And I’m totally into the idea of buying fx and synths that work both on my phone And Ableton Live.

A lot of people are very happy to be able to use Drambo in Live now

How can you get iOS apps over to the Mac?

Well, it is very few, and almost randomly only a couple actually work.
The macOS App Store has the option to switch to iPhone and iPad apps for searches. Also, you can look at a sort of incomplete list of already owned apps.
On top of that, developers of iOS apps can explicitly choose not to allow their apps to work on macOS.
Some apps will only work standalone. Some will show up as AUV3 in Live but not work, or not work as expected. Some will work.. and some of those are just as a result of their design, some are actively looking to ensure that their apps are supported on macOS.
But yeah. The App Store and a bit of persistence. I have a LOT of iOS apps. And I have a tiny pool that actually shows up in Live. Honestly, after a run through, the very few that do end up working are replaceable by standard macOS alternatives.

Ah, not so straightforward I see. Thanks

Maybe I'm out of subject, but it seems a nice update with a lot of fixes.
The only issue : they now gate the output of AU plugins under a certain threshold just like with the VST plugins.
It should be an option in the preferences, because in some situations it's just like reducing the dynamic range...

Try testing with the Moog AUv3's (available on the App Store)... really nice!
