Ableton Live 8 Multiple VST file locations

Can someone help me pls? I have Ableton Live 8 (yeah its old). For some reason when updating the VSTs from Ableton, it has moved some VSTs to a completely different folder. I have taken a shortcut and pasted that into the VST folder but the scan doesn't pick them up. Does anyone know how I can pick up or move the VSTs to the correct folder?
