Ableton Forum

According to the manual there is a Plug In Sources section or tab in preferences. I do not see either. There is nowhere to specify my Plug ins folder or activate them.

I figured it out.

Ableton cannot use VST plugins when run through Rewire. I was opening Ableton Live (10 Suite) under Protools 2018 through Rewire.

If you open Ableton as a standalone app, you will see the 'Plug in' tab on the left or a 'Plug in' Sources section under the 'File/Folder' tab depending on which version you are using.

It is pretty lame that they did not get VST plugins to work through Rewire. That is a HUGE drawback with this program and something that should be noted/announced clearly by Ableton. Protools owners are spending a lot of money to buy this program.

Nothing to do with Ableton, Reason Studios stopped development of ReWire in 2020, hence rewire no longer supported.
