Use incoming audio to generate midi CC

Hi
I want to use the percussionists track (playing live) to come into Ableton on a track, use the volume to create a cc controller that will then be fed back out as midi cc to a Helix FB and will modulate the frequency of a Q block

What is the best way to achieve this in your experience?

It works fine of course using a midi clip etc with an LFO generator but the whole point is to magnify the synergy of live performance

If you have max for live you could probably map an envelope follower to a device that send out midi ccs. There also may already be a device similar on maxforlive.com that’s all in one. I don’t think the native envelope follower sends out midi ccs but I know I’ve seen one that did somewhere?

Thanks
I no longer use Max for anything...I was hoping for something generic that can be used across daws as I use Live as part of a bigger picture (ie if there is no native solution)
There is a native one in Cubase but obviously cant use it here.

Cheers

Simple solution

Midi piz tools; audio 2 midi

Can be used in cubase too as a simple vocal rider tool by using logical editor! Ie Invert with weighting and timing moved slightly ahead; automated compressor ;-)

I found VU meter to CC control provided as a Max device here: https://forum.yaeltex.com/t/vumeter-cc- ... t-work/199:
The file to install is yx_vol_monitor_0.7.amxd credited to @nacaramusic.
