Hello Ableton users. I was going to buy a new laptop and I have one in mind with a Ryzen 5 5625U. 6 cores. Will this be enough for me? I usually have a lot of VSTs running.

There's a LOT more that affects performance than just the number of cores. Speed of the processor, memory and storage being three key ones, especially if you tend to use a lot of VSTs and plugins. You want to make sure the laptop is using high density (1tb or greater) SSD and is maxed on on memory.

It has 8GB DDR4-3200. I don’t need more than that.

512GB NVMe SSD.

Processor is clocked at a turbo speed of 4.3GHz. 6 cores, 12 threads.
