any way to open presets (.adv) with newer versions of a device ?

Post by chapelier fou » Thu Jul 28, 2022 2:58 pm

When I make changes to a device and save under another name, all .adv files are becoming unusable with the new version. That's totally understandable.
But are there any tips/tricks/magic to edit an .adv file so it gets associated and works with a new version (that might only have cosmetic changes) ?

No, presets of an amxd. Saved in Live’s library.

Ah, yeah of course.
Except for keeping the same device's name (and the same for its parameters), there's no magic trick afaik.

Ok, I think one workaround is to make device modifications with new names, like 1.01, 1.02...etc then when I'm sure I didn't introduce new bugs, save it back to the 1.00 version.
