Midi Sequencing problems with Roland MV-8000

I just purchased Ableton 5.0 last night hoping that this could become my main sequencer and audio recorder.

I'm having troubles syncing my Roland MV-8000 with Live. I want to be able to use the MV8K as a midi input, record the midi notes and play back through the MV8K producing sound. Using 1 channel works fine, but when I try to add another midi channel, and re-arm the new midi track, my first recorded midi track does not play through the MV8k any longer.

- It seems that syncing with an external device using midi is only valid for 1 channel, not multiple midi channels? I want to record midi on Channel 1, 2 3 etc, sending the midi signals to my MV8k and producing the sound in the mv8k. From there I can record the output of the MV8k back into Ableton.

Please help. I had no problems with this in SONAR.
