Live V.11.2 HiDPI still not working for some plugins

Hi there,

I noticed in Live V. 11.2 turning off "Auto-Scale Plug-In Window" for some plugins still results in faulty graphics output - at least for my scaled Windows settings. Blurry and only a part of the plugin instead of crisp hi-res graphics as expected and working fine for other plugins (like Spire, Nexus, Serum, Sylenth1,...).

In Windows 11 my settings are: 2560 x 1440 (WQHD) and 150% upscaling. Ableton UI zoom 120%.

Still faulty as described are: All Arturia plugins, Scaler 2, all Native Instruments plugins, all iZotope plugins.

So for these I have to keep "Auto-Scale Plug-In Window" turned on and have lower resolution, scaled graphics. My feature request is to have the mentioned plugins also displayed without scaling them up. Then the plugins own resize functions can be used to scale them but with hi resolution.

Note: Why I use Windows 150% upscaling?
Because else Windows texts are too small. And just setting Windows Text size higher leads to unwanted results in many cases and applications. So 150% scaling everything works fine for me.

HiDPI still not fixed for Live V.11.3.10 on Windows 11 with system scaling 150% (all other DAWs I own do high DPI scaling correctly)

Found this thread on KVR.
https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=579372

This work-around solves the problem:
- right click live executable -> Properties -> Compatibility -> Change high DPI settings -> Check "Override high DPI scaling behavior. Scaling performed by:" -> change drop down to "Application".
- Start Live, instantiate a plugin
- Disable "Auto scale plugin window".
- remove plugin and re-open it
- All plugins now crisp and sharp where "Auto scale..." is disabled (also Arturia, Scaler, Omnisphere,...)

BTW: This works at least with VST3 plugins, because I have no more VST2 plugins installed.

With Live 12 around the corner...

...does anyone know if HiDPI display for Arturia, Native Instruments and iZotope plugins is fixed in Live 12 when Windows 11 scaling is set more than 100%?

Thanks a lot, these help me with Live 12 too

I think the tip was originally from Ableton for Live 9
https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/artic ... or-support

But it is a bit sad that I have to disable for each plugins at once

If you are a beta user you can take a look to the my centercode Suggestion "L12-SUG-2918 - HiDPI - more options please"

You're welcome. That list could be little shorter cause you can also deactivate plugin scaling in the plugin list, without instantiating first. But still plugin by plugin.

I am not on center code, but thanks a lot for posting it there...
