Re: Ableton Note wishlist
I'd say the most pressing needs would be:
Lighter interface option
Easier note editing (at least for ipad users, I know space is a premium on iphones)
Also (unless I'm still missing how to do this):
clip start/stop options similar to live
custom clip lengths

Another vote for MIDI input. This could open many possibilities!

Re: Ableton Note wishlist
I think Ableton should make a Note Studio app. More of an Ableton Live DAW for IOS.

Re: Ableton Note wishlist
my first impressions after jamming around. the main things i would like:
chord mode: for quick chord progressions using one note per chord. just use the modes of the major or minor scales as triads. that would make it easy on such a small UI.
swing - would be nice to be able to quantise with swing

Re: Ableton Note wishlist
In my opinion Note is a beautiful sketch pad just the way it is. Please keep it simple. I would like different key signatures available. Thank you!
Re: Ableton Note wishlist
I’m fine with how Note is for the most part. Good wide range tool for doing Session View sketches with a lot of the tools from Live immediately at your disposal. In many ways it is even impressive.
One thing I’d like that I know a lot have mentioned is some midi editing. The Ableton synth and music learning site even seem to have rudimentary note input options. I’d imagine the cleanest implementation to start off with would simply be a draw tool on or off that plops in notes at the duration of the grid. Further edits would be done outside of pen mode. Though I’ve seen some amazing note editing on iOS (nanostudio 2 is my favorite, I’d highly recommend checking that out!)
Still, despite that long rant, I can actually live without that one.
The even bigger request is support for midi input as others have mentioned. This was one of the big factors that made the iMaschine app kind of a drag to use. Midi input lets you connect your keyboard or launchpad pro or whatever and just dabble for hours and hours. …especially with Bluetooth midi (saves you an input for charging your device).
For midi support, note input and maybe modwheel pb would make me happy enough. Sustain pedal is tricky (in nanostudio 2, sus pedal is converted to long notes… for better or for worse). If they decide to get a little more advanced with midi, I wouldn’t complain but it isn’t essential. In that regard, transport and capture midi assign would be pretty sweet.
Finally. I haven’t tried it on my iPad, but I do think it’d be cool if the app is universal and opens each View on each side when in landscape mode. Then you can trigger clips while recording. Or select other instruments all very quickly. It’d be a feature that isn’t actually a whole new feature, just to distinguish the iPad vs iPhone for universal support.

Re: Ableton Note wishlist
Just give me more wavetable presets, preferably my own created sounds.
It got 2 days of use from me and thats that for now. Burned through all those sounds already.
Otherwise love it.
