Ableton Forum

Hi there.
I'm using a Behringer X32 as my sound card, which is fed via USB into my Mac Mini.
Now, I've noticed that on Ableton Live 11.2.6 I do not receive any audio input on channels 1/2.
Is there any caveat, or anything I should know regarding these two channels? Are they somehow "disabled" or not useable?

maybe it's a channel numbering issue? do you get sound in other apps besides Live?

I thought of this as well, but interesting enough: I have channels 3&4 which are correctly mapped into Ableton Live as 3&4...

So, I checked with Reaper and same thing here: I do not get audio input on channels 1/2 - like Ableton Live.
Where should I be looking into?

I don't know if the official support would take care of this - the X32 is for sure out of its warranty period.

Really nobody with Ableton Live using an X32 here?

start at the source.

can you hear the signal on channels 1/2 directly from the X32? e.g. from headphones plugged directly into the X32? if you can then check your routing setup in the X32. maybe it's messed up.

if the signal seems to be fine within the X32, the next possibility is an audio driver issue on your computer. check the X32 in Audio MIDI Setup also.

Hi.
I can hear the signal at the source on the X32. I can send it out directly to main out 1&2 and I hear it in my loudspeakers.
If I map these two inputs onto another pair in the Ultranet tab, for example laying the instrument on 3&4, I get signal in Ableton Live.

OK, it's solved!
I had disabled mic input on Mac OS and this is mapped to channels 1/2 so I did not get any sound.
That was it!
