Sustain Notes Holding After Stop

Hey! So I've actually found a few articles on this and started thinking this happens to everybody, but then I was with a friend yesterday and he did not have this problem so I figured I'd post here and see if anyone can help.
When I record a piano (or anything with a sustain pedal), Ableton keeps playing the note even after I press stop if playback was stopped while the sustain pedal was set to on. So if its a synth patch or something like that, it will just keep playing forever unless I hit stop twice really quick or hit the sustain. This is making Ableton almost unusable for me because I use the sustain pedal on a lot of instruments.
Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? I've even tried to reinstall and it still does it. Again, on my friends laptop/Ableton, it does not do this.
