Delete time on a single channel? Move discrete chunks en masse?

I've been using Live since 1.5. In 2022, nearly 2023...all these years later I'm asking again:
1. is there any way to delete time on a single track, not globally?
2. Is it possible to discretely select multiple regions across multiple tracks simultaneously? ie to select only certain desired regions across multiple tracks and move them without moving everything 'trapped' in between? In basically any other daw or even the most basic desktop-level file management this is simply command/click but Live still only seems capable of shift/click.
Am I missing something?

No and no.

Thanks Tarekith, good to see another dusty old-timer!
Such a shame these 2 still aren't there....just blows my mind I'm forced to choose between potentially trashing work to move things or do it piecemeal and trash inter-region timing.
Any nudge-by-xyz yet? ie nudge selection by bars/n ticks etc?

Live has always been kind of quirky and particular about certain workflows, I hear you. Don't let it frustrate you too much, there's still so much it CAN do that a work around is usually just an extra click or two. Maybe not with selecting 200+ non-contiguous clips, but you get my drift.
And who you calling dusty? I stood outside in some fairly breezy conditions yesterday I'll have you know!

Yeaaah....quirk is kinda polite

and yes it can do amazing things but what use is a screwdriver when I need a wrench or the screwdriver magnetizes everything in sight when I try and use it?
How would you work around it though, not grabbing/moving unwanted ends of chunks, mashing up automation, re-positioning bits that got moved unintentionally etc etc? Honestly as far as I can see it's unworkable and impractical for a lot of the work I would use it for.

Just chiming into this thread to echo that a "Delete time" for individual tracks would be a real time saver for a lot of the work I do (1-stop shop dialogue editing, sound design, and music service for podcasts and other audio recordings).
Otherwise, I have to do all of my dialogue editing in another DAW first, which would be fine if no project scope ever changed (more often than not, it does, especially with the indy productions that make up a big chunk of my client base).

If I have a tricky edit, I group the affected tracks, make the edit and then un group. Not ideal but it works great.

I'm not sure I follow. How does grouping make this process more efficient for manipulating (especially deleting) time?

I'd love to be utterly wrong but I don't think this person understands the issue.
Honestly there are no practical workarounds for these issues that leaves pieces untouched and in their original relative positions. For what I spend most of my time in a DAW for for creative bill-paying work it's a hard fail sadly.

It’s easier to edit stem groups or all tracks in some situations, it’s not a perfect solution. After the edit I undo the group.

It is for sure...but that's of no use re these 2 issues unfort.

Unfortunately no DAW is perfect in every respect, I love Live but I admit editing is not it’s strength. I will also use Pro Tools or Reaper if necessary, but Live is still my favorite.
